Day 23

BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY
Ephesians 3:14-21
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name. I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.

Amen.

INTERFAITH PRAYER OF THE DAY
I am, O my God,
but a tiny seed which Thou hast sown
in the soil of Thy love,
and caused to spring forth by the hand of Thy bounty.
This seed craveth, therefore,
in its inmost being,
for the waters of Thy mercy
and the living fountain of Thy grace.
Send down upon it,
from the heaven of Thy loving-kindness,
that which will enable it to flourish beneath Thy shadow
and within the borders of Thy court.
Thou art He Who watereth the hearts of all
that have recognized Thee from Thy plenteous stream
and the fountain of Thy living waters.
Praised be to God,
the Lord of the worlds.

A COURSE IN MIRACLES
Lesson 23

I can escape from the world I see by giving up attack thoughts.

Besides using it throughout the day as the need arises, five practice periods are required in applying today's idea. As you look about you, repeat the idea slowly to yourself first, and then close your eyes and devote about a minute to searching your mind for as many attack thoughts as occur to you. As each one crosses your mind say:
I can escape from the world I see by giving up attack thoughts about ______.
Hold each attack thought in mind as you say this, and then dismiss that thought and go on to the next.

EDGAR CAYCE DAILY READING
Think on This...
(Q) Will the New Year unfold greater opportunities for my professional advancement and my greater service to my fellow man? (A) These are part of self's own development and must rise within by taking advantage of those opportunities which are offered from day to day. As has so oft been indicated, and this body will find same within its own experience, it is as we use that in hand that the greater opportunities are given.

RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS
Metta / Loving-Kindness Meditation
May I be safe from harm.
May I be happy just as I am.
May I be peaceful with whatever is happening.
May I be healthy and strong.
May I care for myself in this ever-changing world graciously, joyously.

May all living beings everywhere, on all planes of existence, known and unknown, be
happy, be peaceful, be free from suffering.
