Day 13

INTERFAITH PRAYER OF THE DAY
Living beings are without number;
I vow to row them to the other shore.
Defilements are without number;
I vow to remove them from myself.
The teachings are immeasurable;
I vow to study and practice them.
The way is very long;
I vow to arrive at the end.

A COURSE IN MIRACLES
Lesson 13
A meaningless world engenders fear
I am looking at a meaningless world.
A meaningless world  engenders fear because I think I am in competition with
God.

Ah, good ole' fear... Tonight Melissa and I participated in an interfaith informative service at our church where several young Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors students gave testimonials about their plights. The question is, why is this bill having such a difficult time being passed when the majority of Americans are for it? The main reason for it's being fought against by a very vocal minority is fear. According to A Course in Miracles there are only two root emotions: Fear and Love. The question we all must ask ourselves is, "which do I choose now?"

EDGAR CAYCE DAILY READING
Think on This...
For, as He hath given-if ye would know the Spirit, or God, search for Him; for happy ye will find Him. Thus-in that consciousness of daily living and being that which is in keeping with the ideal-life and its problems becomes not a burden, but opportunities-for the greater expressions and expansions of self in knowing that as ye sow daily the fruit of the spirit, ye need not worry nor fret thyself as to its growth. God giveth the increase. Hence be not weary in well-doing.

CATHOLIC SAINT OF THE DAY
St. Hilary
This staunch defender of the divinity of Christ was a gentle and courteous man, devoted to writing some of the greatest theology on the Trinity, and was like his Master in being labeled a “disturber of the peace.”
Raised a pagan, he was converted to Christianity when he met his God of nature in the Scriptures. His wife was still living when he was chosen, against his will, to be the bishop of Poitiers in France.
